Day 6 - All's well that ends well.
After the somewhat 'bumpy' journey from Klaipeda to Kaunas, the day ended on a relaxed note. 👍
During the time between the first and second World Wars, Kaunas was the capital of Lithuania. With the rank, the glory was also lost. In the 50s and 60s, the Soviets wanted to turn the city into an industrial site, especially in terms of armaments. 🙄
In the old town center, there are some beautifully renovated churches and houses. Some trendy bars were also busy on Saturday night.🍹🍻 But right next to them, there is still a lot that lags behind for decades...🏚🙈
Anyway, we washed down this day with a little refreshment. For all concerned blog readers: The animals don't drink alcohol, of course! They just like to 'pose'...😎
Tomorrow we're heading to the real capital: Vilnius.
Oh, and you can ride your bike on the Lithuanian highway. And there are also bus stops on the emergency lane, which means pedestrian traffic along the road. 😱 Limit is still 130 to 110 km/h. But there is not a single noise protection wall...🤓
