Valencia

we=143:3-on the way

And today the three of us are on the road again. Carnival holidays in BW make it possible for us to be out and about with our grandson. And again we're heading to Spain via LUFTHANSA - today to VALENCIA. Here we will live in the old town and, among other things, visit our orange tree on the Finca Naranjas del Carmen. Let's see if the Oceanografic in Valencia can convince us. Barcelona has shown us, shockingly, that it's not necessarily about the sea creatures, but rather about money.

Let's wait and see what our grandson wants to do. We are definitely looking forward to it!

Now we have arrived in Valencia! The sky is cloudy, it's around 20 degrees, and there are lots of people at the airport trying to get a taxi.

One took us to the edge of the old town to the Hotel SAN LORENZO. An old building with a lot of charm and an elevator! It's very pleasant after a certain age. During this stay the rooms are not next to each other with a connecting door. Our grandson moved into a room higher up - and with a freestanding bathtub in the room - in addition to the shower. The young man was really lucky!

So we stowed away our suitcases and headed to the old town. It is very difficult to mention the individual alleys and squares. There is definitely the MERCAT CENTRAL – a beautiful market hall nearby. Enjoyed a small PAELLIA VALENCIANA and other tasty little things here.

Quickly go back to the hotel – get your jacket. Then it got too cold for me. Now “into the river”, this feat of a green lung for the city. There is path for pedestrians, cyclists and joggers. The green areas are not only interesting for the many birds, lots of people also have a picnic, and dogs and cats are also allowed to move around freely.

And then looked for and found the train station. Very beautiful facade with ornate ceramic reliefs, and the interior is also worth seeing - as if it had fallen out of time, with old-fashioned wooden switches, painted walls and tiled ceilings. We could only admire the main post office from the outside – it was already closed. Went back and forth through the streets of the old town and simply enjoyed life. Quickly go to the hotel, freshen up a bit and then head out again for dinner.

Let's see what's beautiful here. And then we'll definitely sleep well - after so much exercise in the fresh air.

I think the first day in Valencia was very nice; we saw lots of nice alleys and impressive buildings and were able to simply relax. My feet are still fine, but I think that will change in the next few days. I was pretty lucky with my room as my room is a lot bigger (and has a bathtub in the room!).

For dinner today we had tapas and a sandwitch with grilled turkey - very tasty.

See you soon!
