09/07/2019: On the holy mountain of Mount Tai

Yesterday Confucianism, today Taoism. We immerse ourselves in spiritual challenges. It was time to visit one of the five holy mountains of Taoism. We reached the Heavenly Gate on Mount Tai with a cable car (brand new Doppelmayr). At the top, several Taoist temples and masses of people awaited us. Instead of the cable car, you could have also climbed over 6000 steps. But only pilgrims who hope for enlightenment or something similar do that after this ordeal. Unfortunately, it was very foggy with heavy rain. Therefore, we could only imagine the certainly beautiful landscape. Back down, we visited a Taoist temple complex.

Our hotel was the Wanda Realm, a hotel with probably typical Chinese, for us unusual chic.
