After an excellent breakfast (soft black bread, eggs, fruit, delicious cheese, and excellent juice), we set off today for the longest stage. The route was mostly very boring, often along major roads. Fortunately, I was cheered up every six kilometers (thank you!). A good part of the route also led along a grass path next to the road, including free-roaming sheep. Walking on uneven grass paths is very painful with blisters. At about halfway, I bought food for the next day at Plus in Tiel. There were also a few small towns to see, and the flags are hanging at half-mast here today, as May 4th is known as Memorial Day in the Netherlands. At Veerhuys (my accommodation), there was a delicious dinner with a view of the river and ferry, and breakfast is already in the fridge. Fresh bread will be delivered tomorrow morning. Today's distance: 37.1 km.
