Step on the gas, have, and search
The drive from Lake Garda to Tuscany passed through a wonderful landscape.

Since Saturday evening, we have been on the road. Our route took us through Hermsdorf and Kiefersfelden to Peschiera del Garda. The small town, with its approximately 10,000 inhabitants, is located on the southern shore of Lake Garda and not far from the highway heading south – at least in theory. In our case, ‘not far’ meant a significant detour, as we missed the correct exit once again.
In the end, it was worth it. On Tuesday, we experienced Peschiera under bright sunshine – so beautiful that we spontaneously decided to stay one day longer. Well, Icke made that decision ... but I was more than happy with it.
The journey was not without its challenges, covering over 1100 kilometers. Our new motorhome, a four-year-old Bürstner 727 G, drives beautifully, but at seven and a half meters, it is considerably longer than our old Hymer. I had to get used to that – and a few other things. Still, the advantages outweigh the disadvantages: two single beds (no more climbing into the pull-down bed at night), a cozy face-to-face seating group, no more conversions needed, and a powerful air conditioning system for hot days.
The start was not without nervousness, however. Therefore, the rest day in Peschiera was all the more pleasant: a stroll through the old town, a coffee on the terrace of a small hotel, background bar music, and the sun on my face. Exactly the right way to prepare for the coming days in Tuscany – because tomorrow we continue to Lucca.
