A campsite that leaves no wishes unfulfilled

Our last day at the Tripesce campsite in Vada.

We are actually more at home on pitches - or like to spend the night in public parking areas when we are sure we're not in anyone's way. For this reason alone, the days here on this beautiful patch of earth at the northern edge of the Maremma coast were something special for us.

But not only for this reason: Tripesce is a special campsite – for many reasons.

It starts with the exceptionally friendly staff. We are at the end of the season - in seven days the campsite will close for several months. Yet there is no sign of exhaustion from the employees here, although after a long and undoubtedly stressful summer they are likely at the limit of their strength and nerves. Always friendly, helpful, with an open smile – we have experienced it quite differently at many campsites.

Secondly: the bar and the restaurant.

For an excellent espresso, you gladly pay 1.30 euros.

In the evening, there’s a large pizza Margherita for 7 euros that melts in your mouth. The dough is neither dry nor hard, but light, soft and at the same time crispy – a masterpiece from the friendly pizza baker, whose work you gladly watch as he creates his masterpieces (this has nothing to do with craftsmanship!).

In addition, there’s a well-stocked convenience store, a bike rental, a children’s playground, super clean sanitary facilities, a sink at every pitch (!), an agility course for dogs – and, and, and.

And of course: the beach right at the doorstep with a small café next door.

The section directly in front of the campsite is usually well-filled, but those who prefer it a little quieter can find a peaceful spot just a hundred meters away, from which to enjoy the view of the turquoise, crystal-clear water.

Perhaps we should give some campsites a chance more often in the future …
