Radler in the Fog

Yesterday we crossed the border to Laos. The higher we climbed, the more background noise and humidity there was. Once we reached the top, we could hardly see the border... We somehow navigated our way and were directed left and right by friendly border officials. Exiting Vietnam (with 3 checks) went smoothly; everyone knew Dortmund and Bayern Munich - German football - very good. The exit stamp cost 50000 Dong per person - for whatever reason. The logical entry also generally went well, but unfortunately, there was a power outage there. We stood in the fog in the right building and then stood in the dark. Filled out the entry form in the dark (hats off to the phone flashlight). I will never understand why I have to fill out everything that is mostly already in my passport. Due to the power outage, our entry could not be processed immediately, so we sat there for a while... and it was very cold. All's well that ends well. Stamp in the passport, and we could continue. On the Lao side, the road immediately became bad. Very many very deep potholes and a lot of red dust. But at least people stopped honking. Quite crazy. Now we are on our way to Vientiane.
