I've woken up early again today, but I stayed in bed until half-past seven. Then I packed and left. A little stroll through the city and then I had coffee and a stuffed churro with vanilla cream for breakfast before heading to the bus station. I walked around there for a bit as well. Still, I had 2 hours to wait until my bus arrived. Next time I will take an earlier bus again. I generally wake up early. So, I got myself another coffee and relaxed. The bus ride was very pleasant. I had a two-seater to myself and it was comfortably warm on the bus. We traveled from Santiago to Porto. I have already taken this route before, and the great thing is that you pass many towns that you also cross on the Camino portugués. During my first pilgrimage, it felt somewhat sad that it took me about 11 days to cover the 250 kilometers, while you can drive the whole distance in 3 hours.
So I arrived in Porto and first walked towards the city center. I remembered again how steep Porto is. I didn't have much of a plan, even though I've been to Porto 3 times. According to Google, I wandered through popular areas, but it looked more like a ghetto. I went down and up to the water where I felt familiar again. Because that's where the Camino leads along. The promenade by the water is truly magical, and every 20 meters there are street musicians, and the beautiful weather made it quite crowded there. I called friends and enjoyed the wonderful location and view. Then I crossed the bridge and went back, and then I went for coffee. From there I headed to the supermarket and then made my way to the airport, even though my flight is not until tomorrow morning. But getting a hotel or hostel wouldn't be worth it, so I went directly to the airport to chill there for the night. Tomorrow in Hamburg, I have all day to sleep. Once at the airport, I had something to eat and then went through security. There, I found a quiet spot and spent the night.
