Instead of arriving on Saturday (09.08.) evening, I arrived Sunday morning at 11:20. My flight to Dallas was rerouted to New York because we were losing oxygen 🫣 It took 5 hours before we could fly on to Dallas, which made me miss my connecting flight to LA, so I had to spend the night. Paid for by American Airlines of course, but it was really annoying, because they could have put me on a plane from NY to LA directly, but wouldn't. The famous American customer service was non-existent here 😤 But at least they then put me on a flight directly to Santa Barbara the next morning.

After arriving I got picked up by Brian and Kirsten. We ran a few errands and then had a big farewell potluck party to get to know Brian's friends before we went on our road trip. His friend Lizza hosted at her house. It was so lovely to get to know everyone, wonderful people!

The next morning we got an amazing breakfast at Renauld's, packed everything into the van and drove to Brian's childhood home around Carmel Valley and Monterey to see this beautiful area and meet his mother the next day. We camped on the Old Coast Road with a gorgeous view of the Pacific Coast. 😍
