Today was planned as a rest day. Sleeping in, just driving 90 miles, and enjoying an afternoon bath in the hot springs of Pagosa Springs. After checking out, we went back up to a pass around 3400 m high in the San Juan Mountains. By the way, this is where the large sand dune gets its material from. Beautiful landscape and dream weather with a blue sky. Around noon we reach Pagosa Springs and park the car at the hotel. Then we stroll through the town and stop at the Mexican restaurant for a small lunch. At 2 PM we are back and can take possession of our room. Then we head straight to the pool. The water is 30°C. We take turns swimming, reading, or sleeping. By 6 PM it noticeably gets cooler and we retreat. Tonight's dinner is on the terrace with good Californian wine.
