Sado - Sawata and Golmines

Published: 22.06.2023

On Sunday and Monday, we have another day off and we use one of the days to go to Sawata. Sawata is a city with many restaurants and some shops for Sado. We visit some of the clothes stores and I buy myself some cool t-shirts and a pair of pants with a lot of pockets from a gardening clothing store. I also get a new hat so that my ears, which I always forget to apply sunscreen to, are finally protected. For lunch, we eat at a cafe that is a bit secluded but has a very good rating on Google Maps. At first, we are unsure if we are in the right place because sometimes the entrances to restaurants and cafes look like regular entrance doors to residential houses. However, we decide to just open the door and we are actually in a cafe and not at some old lady's living room. The good rating was justified, the food is really delicious and the cold drinks are perfect for the quite hot day. After lunch, we take a few more bus stops and visit the gold mines. Since I have been there before, I can show the others the way and due to the beautiful weather, we decide not to go to the museum but just enjoy the fantastic view. After a strawberry milkshake from the nearby cafe, we head back.
