This morning, the sun rose over the Metro parking lot in Dos Hermanas, waking us up. As we left the parking lot, we drove through a residential area under construction. Apparently, the expansion of the suburbs of Seville was progressing rapidly. There were entire blocks with new residential complexes being built here.
Today, we were heading to the sea again, to Sanlúcar de Barrameda, a little before Chipiona. During the one-hour drive, we had plenty of time to marvel at the cotton fields that were evidently present here. We used the internet to delve into the topic. In Europe, Spain was the second largest producer of this clothing raw material after Greece, while globally, China, India, and the South American countries led the statistics. It took us a while to overcome the surprise that cotton was, in fact, being grown in Europe.
We reached our destination at the mouth of the Rio Guadalquivir in the early afternoon and initially headed to the beach. We had already walked enough yesterday.
As the shadows began to lengthen again, we packed up, bought bread and cake for tomorrow at a nearby bakery, and walked back to Gary.
Today, we had some time to play 5-Minute Dungeons before cooking our dinner. We decided against the plan to go out again in the evening and interact with the locals in a bar, as it was simply too cozy on the couch.
