Bolao Mill
Mileage: unchanged It was Saturday, and we had already decided yesterday that we wanted to hike along the cliffs today.

Our next leg along the narrow strip between the Atlantic and the Cantabrian Mountains led us to the small municipality of Ribadesella. This meant leaving Cantabria and entering the region of Asturias.
We also moved along the northern edge of the 'Parque Nacional de los Picos de Europa', the national park of 'European (Mount) Peaks'. Sebb occasionally felt guilty because the landscape, while impressive, wasn't exactly suitable for Gary in terms of mountains. After all, the car had already shown us twice when we were pushing it too hard. However, with our adjusted travel plan, everything remained fine today, despite the sunny weather and nearly 30 degrees.
When we reached the large parking area, we took a short break before heading out to explore the area.
Unfortunately, we couldn't reach the lighthouse we wanted to see; the grounds had been extensively fenced off by the port authority, and since the 'Faro' stood high on a cliff, it wasn't a typical tower but rather a flat building with a beacon. However, we had enjoyed a very nice, extensive walk in the mountains.
Back with Gary, we prepared one of our salads. Here we also used the chestnuts from the day before, chopped up, that we had cooked in the morning along with the Sunday eggs. The other ingredients had been bought fresh at the supermarket just a few hours earlier, on Sunday, which didn't seem to be anything unusual here in Spain.
