It was now time to leave Normandy and move on to Brittany. We drove to Plurien near Erquy. This was somewhere that the village of the indomitable Gauls used to be.
On the way, we stopped at one of the promising patisseries and stocked up on baguettes and croissants for the next morning, as well as éclairs, tartlettes, and macarons for the afternoon and for snacks in between.
We reached the campsite around 3:00 PM, and actually, Sebb wanted to take another hour for a nap, but then we wouldn’t have made it back from the Chapel of Saint-Michel on the island before the tide came in.
So we set off right away through the tidal arm that stretched a short way inland but was now almost dry at low tide. We were amazed to see a boat still lying two kilometers behind the beach.
The chapel was reachable via a rather rocky path, but thus with dry feet. Fortunately, the building was very small and quickly circled, because when we started our return journey around 5:30 PM, the path had already gotten very narrow, and we didn’t want to swim with the backpack.
After dinner, when we took a little digestive walk, there was no sign of dryness under the previously mentioned boat. It was indeed floating again in the sea water.
