It's never exactly clear where you catch something, and Sebb experienced the same. In the evening, he struggled with tingling in his nose and throat, and then suddenly at 3:00 AM, he had a headache on the right side, completely blocked nose, and a swollen throat. Great! Thankfully, there’s Ibuprofen and nasal spray, which helped him get through the day.
The drive from Nantes back to the coast was a must today, as inland temperatures rose relentlessly towards 40 degrees. So, we split the 100 kilometers into two stages and stopped at a well-air-conditioned supermarket in between to stock up on supplies.
After nearly 2 hours, we reached today's destination. A parking spot just a few meters from the beach.
We made our obligatory visit to the quite small beach; however, we cut it short after 30 minutes. For Sebb, the strong sun and the many people became too much, and there was no thought of shade here. So, we went back to the camper van and under the trees that provided some shade.
After dinner, we took the opportunity to observe the solar eclipse. At our location, it wasn't quite full, so at the time of maximum coverage, a small crescent was still visible in the sky. However, the Perseids announced for that evening did not make an appearance.
