Sealing of Engine and Transmission II

It took quite a while, but after four weeks, on the second of May, the call from the workshop came. The major repair was finished... and the bill was ... hefty. Just the troubleshooting for the oil leak in the engine was charged at 1.5 hours of labor, and the repair of the transmission shaft seals took 3.5 hours. In contrast, the material costs remained in the lower three-digit range. Almost negligible in comparison.

It wasn't completely insignificant to us, but it wasn't a total shock either. After all, we had budgeted a larger amount for the repair. And Gary was supposed to be our only home for several months, every day.
