The Inspection
It was morning, early morning, very early morning, when the alarm clock rang at half past five. It was the sixth of March and our appointment at the truck workshop was coming...

In the following days, the list of deficiencies and repair proposals, along with a suitable offer, was added to the invoice. Since the mechanic would only see the exact details once the respective repair began, a concrete statement about the exact costs would only be possible when he started, the offer mostly listed the hourly rate and material costs for various parts. In the end, there was a concrete sum, but it had no significance. Our plan: We would tackle the repairs in stages, starting with the serious issues and only addressing the cosmetic repairs at the very end, which we would preferably carry out ourselves to avoid skyrocketing costs.
We first commissioned the sealing of the engine and transmission, as it had become clear that it was not just the engine losing oil, but the transmission seal had also become damp.
