We have changed our plans because the weather is not cooperating. Instead of going to Te Anau, we are going to Wanaka today. We slept until 6:30am for the first time, take a shower (hot) and have breakfast. On the way to Wanaka, we stock up on groceries and drinks at Pick and Safe. We go over the 1076m high Crown Range Pass.
Our camper is struggling 🫣 We reach Wanaka via Cardrona.
There we visit "That Wanaka Tree" and take a walk through the town.
It is a bit more peaceful here than in Queenstown.
We continue to Lake Pukaki, where we want to spend the night by the lake.
On the way, we make a stop at a lavender farm.
We won't turn off to the West Coast as it only makes sense in good weather.
We find a lonely and dreamy spot by the lake.
Fortunately, the weather holds up, so we can eat outside.
The color of the lake changes every minute.... and the play of colors with the turquoise lake and the colorful lupines is simply fantastic.
So we fall asleep with a view of the lake 😊 what a magnificent place on earth🫶
