River View Lodge Calizdorp
The next morning, the Rain-Cuckoo announces rain, and it actually rains briefly. Lucas had told us about this. After breakfast, we say goodbye to Anna and Lucas, who gift us a bottle of wine, and then we head into the mountains.

We travel over George, taking the Outeniqua Pass to Outhoorn. Outhoorn is known for ostrich farming. However, we only stock up on groceries for the next 2 days, as our accommodation is in the bush. After Calizdorp

and 7 km of gravel road

we arrive in Paradise. A dreamy cabin, thoughtfully equipped with everything you need and a sensational view of the mountains and the Gamka River.
Wow…wow….wow

And above all, without WiFi, it is pure silence, just the chirping of various birds in all colors. A light breeze blows over the great terrace, making it very comfortable.

Our host Bronwyn welcomes us and has provided us with firewood. In the evening, Jürgen grills steaks over the wood fire.

A gecko sitting above the door nearly poops on Jürgen's head.

We catch the sunset, but then unfortunately it clouds over, so we miss out on the starry sky.
The next morning, we are still amazed by the view and have breakfast on the terrace.

After that, we kayak on the Gamka River, rowing once to the left and then to the right, as there are rapids at both ends that stop us.

What a peace and what a nature. Here, one could easily become an ornithologist.
