We're going to Mendoza for my birthday, to a charming Finca in the vineyards. π‘π It's a beautiful birthday gift that I received from my sweetheart π
Here in Mendoza, it's very hot and dry, so we've decided to follow the motto: "save the wa(l)ter, drink more wine" ππ·
On the first evening, the owner of the Finca, Salvador, prepared an "Asado" (Argentinian grill fest) ππ₯© We had a fun evening with 6 other guests, enjoying some of the best steaks we've ever had, accompanied by one, two, three glasses of fine Malbec wine from Huswy π·π La pura vida π
On the second day, we had a delicious breakfast in the beautiful garden π Then we went on a tour of the "Septima" winery, followed by a gourmet lunch ππ΄π·π The food was a perfect match for their wines and beautifully presented. π΄π·ππ»π
On the next day, we visited two smaller wineries by bike. π΄ββοΈπ΄π»ββοΈππ
One of them (Budeguer) was a boutique winery with its own lake. There, the white wine was even our favorite ππ»π€
The other one (Dolium) was smaller, and the owner explained more to us about his winemaking process and his efforts to be as eco-friendly as possible. π It was very interesting, and then we rode back on our rented bicycles π΄ββοΈπ΄π»ββοΈπ¨ππ
So the Malbec in Mendoza was a great experience for us π·π
On our last morning, we enjoyed the beautiful view in the garden, sipped some wine, and relaxed... πππ
After three wonderful days, we sadly had to say goodbye to the Finca and head to the city to catch an overnight bus to Santiago πππ
