Sa 21.08. Vassenden - Bike tour on the lake

All day sun, sun, sun

Today the car stays put, we're going on a long bike tour on the 20 km long Jølstravatnet. That feels good! We much prefer the activity of cycling over driving a car. Plus, it's nice and flat, always close to the shore. Surrounding us are tall, green mountains, with inhabited valleys in between, and occasionally a glimpse of a glacier in the distance. The views over the lake are phenomenal.

We even go swimming, even though the water is very cold. But in the sun on the pebble beach, you quickly warm up again.

On the way back, we encounter culture - the house and garden of a locally known painter - and collect blueberries for dinner.

Since the weather is cooperating so well today, we can have dinner outside in the sun, next to the rushing Jølstra. The sound of the water brings the calmness that is still missing after the long ride.
