Hoping for rain to sunshine - we drive 6 hours from Batumi to Akhaltsikhe through beautiful Georgia.
Akhaltsikhe is mainly known for its Rabati Fortress, which we of course visit and are excited to almost have it all to ourselves.
On the fortress grounds, you can find a mosque and a church as well as a synagogue, where the small Jewish community regularly gathers for prayer.
On the last evening, we are pressured...uhh, invited by our landlords, who are extremely warm-hearted but also quite crazy, to have coffee, schnapps, and sweets. We spend one of the most peculiar evenings, drink too much schnapps, try to avoid the inedible cake, are musically accompanied, and despite communication problems (all only possible with Google Translate) have a lot of fun!
Finally:
Question: 'Katha, how much do you like Aperol Spritz?'
Answer: 'Yes!'
