After that, we went to the Simpsons World, where we also did a similar ride. Since we are both big Simpsons fans, we thought it was really great; everything else was also cool.
And so it continued to the Super Nintendo World, to the Transformers, Tina's favorites the Minions, and then to the Revenge of the Mummy. Most rides were heavily visually animated (Transformers was totally crazy in 3-D technology... we thought our last hour had come), but the Revenge of the Mummy was more of a roller coaster ride... Incredibly fast, sometimes in complete darkness, and then suddenly everything backward again. We got shaken up quite a bit. But it was also a lot of fun.
By midday, it was getting busier, and for the last roller coaster of Fast and Furious, you had to wait 2 hours. We decided not to do that.
So we ended with the Studio Tour. That was a hot experience. There were cities from the USA, from Europe, and so on, recreated. You've seen them in hundreds of movies, as the same ones are used repeatedly. Just a little differently decorated. It makes you think at one moment you're in London, then in Paris, or elsewhere. We saw Jaws, Back to the Future, and all sorts of other films that suddenly passed right before our eyes. Of course, only the facades of the houses remain, which you only really notice when you pass by them from behind.
Things got really wild when the tram drove into the King Kong production hall. Suddenly we were attacked by dinosaurs and, of course, King Kong himself... The whole thing felt very real, and we definitely flinched together a couple of times.
After six and a half hours, however, we were really exhausted. So many impressions and so much walking.
Since we were nearby, we then went to Hollywood for the Walk of Fame. To be honest, we had imagined it to be a bit more spectacular, especially with the characters that hang around there. In Los Angeles, the social divide among Americans is very evident.
At some point, of course, we got hungry and ended up at a Japanese restaurant. More by chance than planned. As it turned out, we ended up at a really good place. Even though we didn't have a reservation, we were seated at the counter and got really authentic Japanese food.
In total, we had been on the go for 11 hours at that point. So it was just time to make the hour-long return trip, and then we were done for the day.
