Today we traveled from Ocean Side to Los Angeles, which takes about a 2-hour drive.
So we left the apartment promptly at 11:00 AM and set off.
Since we couldn’t check into our apartment until 3:00 PM and Tina had already scheduled a hair appointment for 3:30 PM, we first headed straight to Venice Beach.
We were completely amazed at how vast this beach is. Really nice sand, very wide and very long.
After a little snack, it was time for the hairdresser. Like almost all services here, it wasn't exactly cheap, but she did a great job, and Tina and I left with big grins about two and a half hours later.
After a quick stop at a supermarket, we then went to our apartment. Nicely furnished and at first glance, everything seemed to be there that one might need. The second glance came when we wanted to cook something for ourselves today... We didn’t want to go out to eat again. Cooking was supposed to be a simple task... We made pasta with sauce and cucumber salad.
However, since it was more of a kitchenette than a full kitchen... And the stove had a real nostalgic vibe, it took ages to cook in the end. The water just wouldn’t start boiling. The hot plates looked like heating coils... But all's well that ends well. And if you really put some effort into it, you can cut a cucumber salad with a steak knife.
It was quite an exhausting day, so we went to bed relatively early.
