Today I slept in again because I wouldn't be driving too far. Breakfast with yogurt and berries was a thousand times better ๐
I wanted to visit famous coastal beauties: Cape Elizabeth and Ogunquit. The coastal towns were 'charming', but the beaches and piers were understandably deserted in October. Not far from my destination of the day, Kittery, there were two more premium outlets that I had already seen three times in the past three months (Camarillo, Las Vegas, Wrentham). I didn't go there to buy anything, but to see which one I liked the best. The Merrimack outlet was great, everything is close together and it is surrounded by nature, just like Settlers Green. I didn't like Kittery as much because it is quite confusing and sprawling (only recommended with a car).
In Merrimack, I visited a Lindt shop again, the second time after Montreal, because I always find it exciting to see which Lindor balls are sold abroad! And most of the time they give you a free ball when you enter ๐ I could choose between the regular, red balls and a new flavor: 'Pumpkin Spice'. It's obvious which ball I took ๐ Since I love Lindor balls so much, I was also thrilled with the drinks they offered in the shop. Coffee or chocolate, hot or cold, and you could choose the Lindor flavor yourself ๐๐ I watched closely how they prepared this drink, so I can replicate it at home.
Iced chocolate with Lindor balls:
Fill a glass with ice cubes, drizzle some chocolate sauce over it. Melt 4 (!) Lindor balls of your choice (I took the blue ones). Mix the liquid with milk. Pour it over the ice. Optionally, decorate with whipped cream and drizzle with more chocolate sauce ๐
Speaking of foodporn: At noon, I went to Dunkin Donuts again because they currently have a Maple Bacon Sandwich on offer... I have to make that at home too, frying bacon in maple syrup! Yummm ๐๐
In the evening, I cleaned the car a little because I will return it in Boston tomorrow. The hotel (another Days Inn) was right next to the outlet, so I checked in before 4 p.m. I planned my upcoming stay in New York (Thurs-Wed) a bit more and watched the Lady Gaga documentary on Netflix.
By the way, something else caught my attention while driving today: I was amazed again at some traffic lights because I still don't fully understand the rules at intersections - I always assume that the red light means 'wait'. I have already been honked at once because of this. Today, I saw it happen twice that cars in front of me turned on red, so I cautiously followed suit.
On the way, I also had to pay the toll twice (75 cents and 1 dollar). I don't fully understand the system either, I had to pay something 6 times in 6 days, always about 1 dollar. I think this may have to do with crossing state borders. But I don't really know for sure. You can't avoid paying the toll anyway ๐
Now I'm tirrreeed and I wish you a good night or a nice day! ๐ค๐ค
