Koh Samed – back on the island again
I just can't help it: By the end of March 2026, I am already back on an island, specifically on Koh Samed, which remains unspoiled by mass tourism.

With the Priority Pass, we accessed the Luxx Lounge in Terminal 1 before the security check and enjoyed the obligatory sausage. At least there were some pancakes for the junior and a couple of G&Ts for us :)
We flew with Condor on the relatively new A330-900 neo in Premium Eco. Well, it's not Business Class.
The 10.5-hour flight was somewhat exhausting. It took about 50 minutes from the airport to Sukhumvit with Grab.
Around half past one, we checked in quickly at the Sofitel, but the room wasn't ready yet. This was no problem, as we could wait in the Club Millésime on the 31st floor. There, we first had drinks from the Afternoon Tea menu and some sweet and savory snacks.
Afterwards, we settled into our room on the 21st floor and went straight to the pool. Of course, it was Cocktail Happy Hour (3-7 PM) there.
Around half past five, we returned to the stylish lounge for a pre-dinner aperitif. After a few delightful drinks (the G&Ts are huge), we searched for a place for dinner. We chose Pantaree just around the corner. Pad Thai with shrimp, red curry with chicken, and a papaya salad along with a large Chang, water, and mango shake for 400 baht. Simply delightful!
Jet lag greeted us, so we headed straight to bed afterwards :)
