After three days of laziness and heat, we want to move on and drive along the coast to Salinas Cruz. When we arrived there, it felt like breathing through a wet towel in addition to the heat. The humidity is relentless. Since there is actually little to do there, one of our famous long drives was decided on. Calculated arrival just before darkness.... is enough.
The goal is the Sima de las Cotorras. A 120 m deep and 160 m wide pit in the rock, at the bottom of which several dozen parrots have their home. They are supposed to all return at sunset and leave the hole together after sunrise.
In the evening we are too late, but in the morning we can witness the spectacle. Quite nice, but we had imagined something more. At least we had the parking space to ourselves and it was quiet.
