So today was the first stage. First, the obligatory photos at the starting point. ;-) Then we strolled along the sea, until we fought our way higher and higher in the forest. Once we reached the top of Exmoor, we were rewarded with a great view of the Bristol Channel. Then the path forked into the "normal" route on the moorland and more inland - or the "rugged" option along the sea with better views... That's right, in our youthful naivety, we chose the "rugged" option. ;-) It didn't take long for us to understand the small, but significant difference: 3 stream crossings. :-P
After 6 hours, we arrived in Porlock, very hungry. Tonight, we will sleep like babies... :-D
