We are currently on our way to Keelung, the port of Taipei in Taiwan. We have organized our own tour again and will mainly visit the port city of Keelung.
The sea is a bit rough these days. You can tell in the restaurants that not everyone comes for a meal. We are doing great, somehow we manage well even when it sways a bit.
During the day, there were talks as usual. An American journalist who has been traveling in Southeast Asia for over 50 years and has also reported on the Vietnam War stated that he does not expect a war between mainland China and Taiwan anytime soon. We hope he is right.
Another talk covered the etiquette rules in Japan. They were so detailed that even the speaker mentioned that 90% of Japanese people do not observe certain rules or have forgotten them.
In the evening, there was a 'formal night.' This means you dress nicely, and in the main restaurant, there is a special menu. We dined with new acquaintances; in fact, we have met many new people, and we always eat together with someone.
