Fukuoka is the sixth largest city in Japan, with about 1.6 million residents. We have beautiful weather, and after yesterday, the city looks much more lovely.
Today we have a small program planned, and we took the shuttle bus from the port to City Hall. From there, we walked to the very large Maizuru and Ohori Parks. These two adjacent parks are characterized by three main features: a multitude of blooming cherry and plum trees, the ruins of a large castle, and a lovely lake.
The blooming cherry trees are truly fantastic. The blossoms are now at their peak, and the Japanese celebrate this as well. As friends have already told us, entire areas of the park are reserved for evenings spent celebrating with family, friends, coworkers, etc. Many food stalls are also set up.

Schön dass ihr die Kirschblüten geniessen konnte. Tja, bei Hanami kennen die Japaner kein halten mehr. Und wenn erst mal am Abend unter den Kirschbäumen genug Sake geflossen ist ... dann steppt der (japanische) Bär :-)
