Suddenly we stand in front of her. Mighty and with a satisfied expression, she looks down on us: Mother Nature. What happened?
In principle, the day begins like any other - namely with getting up. Despite slight overpopulation, we also head to the continental breakfast buffet in the hotel. Shortly afterwards, we set off and march towards the city center. In order to get an overview, we take a sightseeing tour with an amphibious vehicle (on land and water). The timing is perfect again, because as soon as we get in, it starts.
We start in Downtown and receive numerous information about the buildings, sights, and history of Ottawa. By the way, our guide Marie talks about everything in English and French at a pace and density of information that is hard to keep up with.
On the tour, we finally see the impressive government building, the National Library, any Canadian national museums for history, art, etc., the Silver Notre Dame, the war memorial, and the embassy district with 223 represented embassies of all countries. And finally, we catch a glimpse of 'MosaiCulture', which makes us curious. We want to go there after the tour.
We finally reach its entrance via Alexandra Bridge and explore this floral world in the middle of the capital...
And then, as I said, we stand in front of her. The sculpture of Mother Nature rises about 6m high above us. Impressive and with a lot of attention to detail, like the whole park itself. We did not expect this from this city.
By the way, in Ottawa, there is no sign of our national holiday. So we have to take matters into our own hands. Fireworks are also not a good idea here, so we set out to visit the CH embassy. Of course, no one is there, but we were there ;) Happy August 1st!
Ps. Finally, the following SMS message was surprisingly received by all of us at the same time...
