São Sebastião and Ilhabela

After our stay in Caraguatatuba, we headed towards São Sebastião. We took a bus to São Sebastião and then walked to our accommodation at Gisele's place.

It turned out that our accommodation was not a room, but an apartment, which made us very happy. Our host was also very friendly and welcomed us warmly. Only her dog didn't like us very much. On the first day in São Sebastião, we didn't do much else. We just went to the beach for dinner. We had a delicious paella.

On the second day, it was still raining, but we decided to take the ferry to Ilhabela. There, we wanted to visit Vila, the historical center of the island. However, this turned out to be quite difficult due to the almost torrential rain... So we decided to take the bus back to the ferry. (When the bus drove through puddles, they created waves that were higher than the bus...)

In the evening, like every evening, we cooked something ourselves at Gisele's place. We mostly had meat and pasta, as the meals had to be simple due to only two small pans being available. After that, we went to a folk festival in São Sebastião and had a dessert there.

On the second day in São Sebastião, we went to visit São Sebastião. But again, due to the rain, it was a rather short endeavor. So we returned to our apartment and planned our further travels. Among other things, we found a hotel in Jamaica.

On the third day, we wanted to go back to Ilhabela. We did that, and once we arrived on Ilhabela, we went for a little walk up a small hill. A dog followed us for about 15 minutes, even though we tried to shoo it away. From there, we had a beautiful view of the bay below us. But because it was raining quite heavily again, we went back to São Sebastião and had a delicious Greek dinner there.

This morning, we packed our things and left relatively early. But as soon as we were out the door, we realized that Rémy had forgotten his phone. Normally, that wouldn't be a problem, but we didn't have a key to get back into the apartment and Gisele was in São Paulo. So we called Gisele and she was able to send a friend who opened the apartment for us. However, this caused us to miss our bus to São Paulo. So we had to take a later one, which worked out very well. Now we are in our accommodation in São Paulo and are looking forward to meeting Fabio later.
