Juneau the capital of Alaska

When we woke up this morning, our ship was already in the port of Juneau. Juneau is the capital of Alaska and can only be reached by air or water. 33,000 people live here. And once again, we were greeted with sunny weather. But as we heard, this weather is not typical for Alaska. Normally, it rains much more during this time of year.

We took the 'Tram' up to Mount Roberts. It cost $34 per person, so not exactly cheap, but we were rewarded with a magnificent view. There was also a lot to see at the top. A film about the locals, several artists and carvers, and an eagle.

In the town itself, one souvenir shop follows another, and just about everyone tries to lure you into their store. Despite everything, today the first two Tunauers were in Juneau. Or are we mistaken??
