Blue Mountains

The Blue Mountains are the 5th largest forest area in the world. We took a guided tour there (10.5 hours in total via GetYourGuide) with transfer and hiking. You really have to see it for yourself, as the photos cannot capture the vastness and beauty.

And for the first time in our lives, we saw wild cockatoos 😍

They were just flying around there 😍

The Blue Mountains are called Blue Mountains because the leaves of the eucalyptus trees evaporate the essential eucalyptus oil, the mist of which lies over the forests. This fine mist glows bluish in daylight.
