Rottnest Island

From Fremantle, we took the ferry to Rottnest Island. Once there, we rented 2 bicycles, as we wanted to explore the island and see some quokkas 😃 As can be seen, there are some beautiful beaches on Rottnest Island, but the quokkas were initially hard to find. By chance, we finally spotted our first quokka near a lighthouse 😃 Since we didn't want to explore the entire island, we eventually headed back to our starting point. On the way there, we happened to pass by some restaurants bustling with tourists.. many quokkas were hanging out there too, apparently because they could occasionally get a snack from the tourists.. however, the crowd became a bit too much for us after the idyllic biking, so we found a quiet spot in a restaurant and enjoyed a delicious lunch. On the return ferry ride, we even spotted a dolphin for a brief moment 😃 All in all, it was a worth-seeing island.. since we visited on a public holiday, it was super crowded.. it was lovely to see the quokkas in the wild.. seeing the quokkas by the restaurants felt somewhat unnatural..
