We actually wanted to start the hiking route to Bluff Knoll Mountain, but there was such a long line of cars that the ranger at the parking lot told us we would have to wait at least 2 hours before we could set off. It was Easter, and apparently everyone else wanted to take this hiking trail as well. So we took another, but also more challenging route to Toolbrunup Peak, the 2nd highest mountain in the national park.
It was a very strenuous hike that went uphill from the beginning, and at times we had to climb over rocky sections. Maria handled the last stretch up to the plateau all on her own 💪. Hats off to Maria!!
My legs just wouldn't cooperate anymore, and I enjoyed the view from a smaller mountain.
At the summit, Maria met a nice man with his son, who were always hiking barefoot, saying it gave him the best grip while hiking.
But we also encountered people climbing the mountain in sneakers 🤔
The descent was also very tiring since you had to constantly watch where you stepped to avoid slipping. We are still feeling the muscle soreness in our legs and arms today..
A very exhausting tour, but the view was stunning 😃
