The cutest airport in the world is definitely the Koh Samui International Airport! It's funny that it can call itself international because it's more like an airport baby of the category "When I grow up, I'll also be an airport." When we get off the plane, there's no gangway, no bus. No, we're picked up by a cute little train. I can't believe it and I can't stop laughing. Sitting across from me are two backpackers from Israel who are just as amazed as I am and taking selfies. The rest of humanity is completely unaffected.

The contrast to Hong Kong couldn't be any greater. So small, so quaint, and familiar. I fall in love with this airport immediately. It's actually less of a building and more of a roof open on all sides.

The immigration process takes less than ten minutes with the few people and the most relaxed officer on this planet. And at the Baggage Claim, I burst out laughing again. There's actually only one baggage carousel. Well, actually, a little baggage ribbon. Since the baggage ribbon also simply ends after the circle, the airport staff is busy lifting the suitcases off the carousel.

Shops, an ATM, a counter where I can buy a SIM card... none of that exists here.

Instead, cute colorful paper mache airplanes hang in the atrium. When I grow up, I'll be an airport... 😜
