The Tiveden National Park is the inaccessible core of the vast, legendary Tiveden forest. Forestry has never reached this far, leaving nature untouched.
Hiking Tiveden
We arrived early at the national park because we had planned two hikes for the day.
Hiking Tiveden The first took us to Stigmanspasset, a narrow ravine, through which a road runs, flanked on both sides by steep cliffs.

We looked down at the road from above and continued our path through the forest.

The path also led us to the shores of Lake Stora Trehörningen, which is surrounded by a hiking trail.

However, we only walked a short stretch along the lake to reach Stenkällan with its large rock formations, which attracted the first tourists early on.

At the motorhome, we took a lunch break and recharged for the next round.

Our second hiking trail was the “Trollkyrkorundan” (Troll Church Trail), which led to and over various rock formations.

These are called the “big” and “small troll church” because it was once imagined that trolls must live in such a overgrown forest.

The landscape in the national park impressed us greatly, offering varied views with lake shores, bogs, rock formations, and ancient forests.
