Terre-de-Haut, Iles des Saintes, Guadeloupe (Cruise with the Royal Clipper in the Caribbean)

We anchored off the small island group 'Iles des Saintes', which belongs to Guadeloupe.

For the morning, we had booked a kayak tour, where the kayaks had transparent bottoms.

Before going on the water, the guide explained to us what corals and fish we could see around Guadeloupe.

With the kayaks, we were able to see the seafloor and its inhabitants when the water wasn't too deep.

We paddled to two different spots, a sunken shipwreck and an 'underwater forest', where we floated on the water and looked down at the seafloor through the boat.

After that, we enjoyed a very delicious but strong rum punch.

After drying off on the ship, we took the tender boat back to the town and walked through the pedestrian zone.

Many small shops and restaurants testified that the area primarily thrives on tourism.

The roof of the Catholic Church is modeled after the shape of an overturned boat.

After our little stroll from one end of the town to the other, we returned to the ship, which soon set sail towards Martinique.
