Trip to Sweden: Helsingborg

In the morning, we set off for Sweden but stopped at a weigh station for motorhomes. We had stocked up on supplies and weighed in at 3450 kg - so we could continue our journey without fearing we would have to pay the truck tariff on the Öresund Bridge.

We opted against taking the ferry and chose the route over the bridge to be a bit more flexible with our time. This way, we arrived in Sweden early in the afternoon and headed directly towards Helsingborg.

Actually, we wanted to park and spend the night at the marina. However, when we arrived, the motorhomes were already parked tightly together, so we had to look for another parking spot.

We found one in the upper part of the town near the “Kärnan”.

This medieval fortress tower is the last remnant of the former castle that once stood on the hill.

We walked down into the old town, which features several pedestrian zones.

We also passed by the harbor, which is lined with modern buildings.

Since we still needed to find a place to spend the night, we continued our drive to the small town of Laröd, where there is a free parking spot right by the beach.

There, we stayed overnight with a view of the water. We also took a small walk along the beach path and through the town, where we stopped at a pizzeria that was the only open establishment in the area.
