Today, the bucket list was reduced a little bit. I was on the mountain of the Great Wall of China in Mutianyu. Honestly, I never thought beforehand whether this would be tiring 🤔. But believe me, it is unbelievably exhausting. I wouldn't do it again at the age of 50 😂. Apparently, the construction standards 700 years ago were not as strict, so each of the over 6,000! steps has a different height 🙈 (up to 80cm per step😳). Anyone who gets up here without stumbling, sweating, and taking breaks, something is not right with them 😂. In total, I walked up the stairs for 3 hours 😳. However, it is also a very sublime feeling to stand at the top and take out a triumphant beer from my backpack 🍺. And we went down with the summer toboggan run 😁.
The evening is now ending in the Beijing Northwest Lake area, a huge bar and street food district 😋. With a freshly poured Erdinger beer 🙈 and live Chinese pop music 😂. However, this is well deserved due to the muscle soreness that awaits me tomorrow 😊.
As for food, today I also treated myself to the outstanding Peking duck and Peking soup. Due to various language barriers, the soup was slightly oversized 😂. In between, I had to stop at a nice tea house as well 🍵.
Now it's time to finish the drinks and head to the airport, where my flight to Hanoi will depart at 01:30 am in 4.5 hours. So, once again, no sleep tonight 🙄...
