South America - My Perspective After 5 Months

It feels like ages ago, yet I remember it as if I just returned yesterday.

My journey to South America has changed me.

It has made me more confident, it has made me bolder, it has pushed me to my limits.

My eyes were opened to this wonderful colorful world, and I met so many amazing people who inspired me greatly.

Looking back on my time, I am impressed by myself, by all that I have accomplished. I am proud that I took this step, despite the uncertainty of what awaited me there.

I am proud of how I embraced such foreign circumstances and how open I was to the entire experience.

But above all, I am grateful. Grateful that my mom, dad, and Emma supported me so much, making this journey possible and always having my back.

Without you, I wouldn’t have had all these experiences!

Of course, it was different than at home. It was at times rough, dirty, loud, and unfamiliar.

But it was also multicultural, exciting, and incredibly intense.

A small message with which I want to conclude this first part of my travel blog is that I have learned that it is always worth stepping out of one’s own, personal comfort zone. Because whether it’s a positive or a negative experience, you always learn something.

Having the courage to approach people and ask for help when you need it, or trying something that doesn’t initially suit or taste good, is always worthwhile, I have learned.

So, with that, I conclude my chapter “South America”, but I already have the pencil in hand for the new chapter “Asia”.
