Grand Canyon... and more...

Published: 15.04.2025

Our road trip now took us along much of the old Route 66, which is in poor condition in some sections. We stopped in the old town of Oatman, known for its quirky Route 66 souvenirs. Another stop followed in Seligman at Lilo's Cafe. There, we each tried a piece of delicious Black Forest cake and coconut cake, both highly recommended.

We ended the evening in Williams at a diner converted from a gas station, enjoying a cold beer and live music.

The Grand Canyon, one of America's most famous landscapes, was the destination the next day. What a gigantic natural backdrop!

No less impressive was the Horseshoe Bend, a 300-meter deep gorge through which the Colorado flows.

Before reaching Las Vegas, we encountered more wonderfully scenic highlights like Lake Powell at Glen Canyon and Zion National Park.
