Thank you and bye bye Brazil

For us, a fantastic and exciting vacation in Brazil ends tonight.

First, I would like to write something about Corona and proof of vaccination. When we landed in Rio, we were informed by Lufthansa on the plane that the Brazilian government attaches great importance to wearing the mask properly over the nose and mouth. Furthermore, they would check if we were vaccinated. So, all I can say is that the mask requirement only applies at security in the airport and on some airplanes. Otherwise, nobody cares about it, and we were not asked once if we were vaccinated...

The vacation was a dream overall: we were both impressed by the wildlife and nature, as well as by the helpfulness of the Brazilians. Brazil was an exciting travel destination for us. We actually always felt safe. Of course, you have to follow certain rules and should inform yourself in advance and on-site. Because the wealthy and the rather criminal neighborhoods are often only one street apart - so you should avoid turning in the wrong direction ;-)

The breakfast was usually delicious, only our fabulous and unique German bread was naturally missing ;-)

It's a bit disappointing that Brazilians mostly don't speak foreign languages - not even in touristic regions. We had actually hoped for Spanish, but even that often fell on deaf ears. Well, thanks to today's technology, communication still works.

As always, the vacation ends with both a crying and a laughing eye. It was a great time, but we are already expected at home...
