Riquewihr, one of the "Most Beautiful Villages of France"

To be honest, I did not expect there to be further improvement after the wonderful old town with 'Le Petite Venice'. Riquewihr is located in a valley open to the east. The town is framed by the hills with vineyards of the Vosges foothills. Over the centuries, the town has prospered because of its vineyards and the trade of its wines, which are well-known throughout Europe. This prosperity is also reflected in the old town, which has retained its very dense urban structure. The houses from the 15th to 18th centuries form an exceptionally rich architectural complex.
