Island Runde-South Norway June 14, 2026

Today we are traveling to Tysse, our second-to-last accommodation before the island of Runde, our main destination. We will pass by stunning natural landscapes, with plenty of variety and many coastal paths along fjords. We'll also make a detour to the beautiful Steinsdalsfossen, which is about 30 minutes from our accommodation.

One of the most frequently visited waterfalls. Steinsdalsfossen has a height of 50 m. The special feature is that you can walk behind the waterfall without getting wet. The waterfall was formed in 1699 when the river changed its course. You can hike up a beautiful path from the parking lot behind the waterfall. It is located on the Norwegian Scenic Route Hardanger.
