Today we are taking a trip to Sandeid.

Sandeid is a village in the Vindafjord municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The village is located at the end of the Sandeidfjord, about 7 kilometers northwest of the village of Vikedal and about 11 kilometers south of the village of Ølensjøen.

The village, which spans 0.63 square kilometers, has a population (2025) of 762 and a population density of 1,210 inhabitants per square kilometer.

Idyllic fjords, tranquil lakes, and historic farms shape the landscape directly around the Norwegian village of Sandeid in the Vindafjord municipality. Among the most famous destinations are the picturesque waters such as Gjerdesdalsvatnet, the historical Gjerde Church, traditional farms, and the nearby mountain highlight Himakåna. Nature and Hiking Himakåna: This spectacular rock ledge is often referred to as the “little sister” of the famous Trolltunga. The hike up to about 357 meters in nearby Nedstrand takes roughly an hour. At the top, you are greeted by a magnificent panoramic view of the Nedstrandfjord and Lake Lysevatnet.
