Today we leave Stavanger and head towards Førre, our next accommodation for the next two days. We will also use a car ferry, from Mortavika to Arsvägen. In Norway, this is quite straightforward: you queue at the ferry terminal, drive onto the ferry, and upon arrival, drive off the ferry and continue on your way. Since we are using a rental car, the costs will be charged to the rental agency; you also receive a detailed invoice after returning the rental car.
For us, taking the car ferry is always a welcome change.
Førre is a village in the municipality of Tysvær in Rogaland County, Norway. The village is located at the northern end of the Førresfjord. The village covers an area of 3.68 square kilometers and has a population of 5,710 residents (as of 2025) and a population density of 1,552 residents per square kilometer.
