Rottle

We got up early in the morning, ate some breakfast and packed our things. Mariné picked us up with a little bus and we drove towards Mossel Bay.

After an hour we arrived at Bottliets Kop. Mariné had just us 3 signed up but we had called them last Thursday to sign up Mariné as well. So we surprised her with that.

We got sent towards the horse stall, here we all got a helmet and a horse. My horse was called Rottle and he would turn out to be quite a problem.

So our 2-hour tour started and we went through a beautiful canyon and up a hill. My horse kept cutting in front of the ones behind me and I kept apologizing. Rottle went from the left side of the way to the right and back again. It seemed like he was drunk.

On top of the hill we had a very nice view and we kept following the road on top of the hill. Rottle started to now completely go off the way taking little shortcuts through the bushes or even stopping for a short snack. One of the guides was basically always next to me telling me what to do and yelling at my horse to keep walking.

Back in front again Rottle decided to just stop and stretch his legs a bit. Since we were walking in a line everybody behind me had to wait until the one guide slapped Rottle and he started moving again.

Our 2-hour tour came to its end and on the last part we saw some rhinos lying there not as aggressive as the one at Buffelsdrift.

I was glad it was just 2 hours because my legs and other things were hurting. We got back to the car and ate some pancakes that we made yesterday evening.

Next we drove to the beach and walked around there for a bit. It was very windy, we went to a restaurant and sat outside for a short time before we went inside where it wasn't so fresh.

Back at the car we started to head back to Oudtshoorn. We bought some groceries before we went to our tents.

After a break and a bit chilly shower we made some dinner and tried to watch a movie. Lea wanted to watch 'Cool Runnings' though the internet here is pretty bad so after we tried multiple streaming websites we went on YouTube.

The movie was on YouTube but always something was wrong, it either went too fast or part of the screen was cut off or there was advertisement. In the end we went for the one with bad quality but normal speed and screen.

Though all the voices were pretty deep because of the bad audio quality which made all the men sound like monsters and all the women sound like men. It made the movie even funnier.

Afterwards, we went to bed for the day.
