Soon after 8, we set off on a quite large stage towards Maungaturoto, where Ralf's uncle Steve lives and where Heike and Felix grew up.
Everything is going well, the highway around Auckland is actually getting wider, so it truly deserves its name.
Our coffee break is short, and we arrive at Steve's place around noon, enjoying the fantastic view and the rural tranquility. The house is wonderful, very cozy and well thought out; we feel right at home and chat a lot, and the homemade 'Bananacake' is delicious! Later, Steve shows us the beach just 10 minutes away, also very atmospheric - it is really paradise here.
